Our Mission

     WTI’s mission and motivation are profound, but very simple. In a nutshell, we are creating an entirely new World that will enable the continued survival, progress and development of humanity. More specifically, our goal is to invent a new and more appropriate model of Civilization having a qualitatively different basis, structure, and operation compared to the current paradigm and implement this updated, improved technology to transform the World into a fundamentally different phenomenon that is better suited to current human needs.  The theoretical basis for this project is provided by the novel transdisciplinary field of World Transformation developed by Dr. Buchanan expressly for this groundbreaking work.  

     Although this project might seem rather abstract, its motives are actually very immediate and practical.  In recent years, numerous sources have warned that dramatic changes in the World and human behavior are required if we are going to overcome the mounting challenges that we currently face and avoid potential catastrophe.  A multitude of global-scale issues, sometimes called “wicked problems”, such as climate change, terrorism, overpopulation, resource depletion, and pandemics, are widely identified as significant threats to our survival, but our best efforts to resolve them have met with little success. In the meantime the dilemma of humanity worsens and notions of progress are all but forgotten. 

     In reality, these seemingly intractable problems are predictable, characteristic artifacts of our current World paradigm and they cannot simply be eliminated through shallow, incremental, post hoc measures.  At WTI we realize these Civilization-threatening problems have their roots in the foundations of Civilization itself and they must be addressed at this deep level through profound, visionary thought, action, and innovation.  This critical technology is rapidly becoming obsolete and needs to be replaced, but there are simply no alternatives. Our work aims to provide these badly-needed alternatives.
